Your Role
As a Bid Writer/Fundraiser, you will be responsible for writing applications to various grant awarding bodies, including conducting research to find appropriate funds to apply for.
Our third sector, not for profit organisation is seeking a skilled Bid/Funding application writer to join our team. You will play a crucial role in securing new business opportunities by crafting compelling bids, proposals, and tender responses. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting research, writing persuasive content, and coordinating the bid process to ensure timely submissions.
You will meet with funders and clients to grasp fund/bid requirements, and you will be tasked with drafting and submitting project evaluations that highlight our impactful contributions.

Bid Writer & Fundraiser Job Description
Responsibilities
- Researching potential business opportunities and identifying suitable funding and tenders.
- Collaborating with internal staff to gather information, develop projects, and tailor proposals to address application requirements.
- Writing clear, concise, and persuasive content for bid responses, ensuring key messages are effectively communicated.
- Managing the bid process, including creating bid schedules and ensuring deadlines are met.
- Reviewing and editing draft documents to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with application specifications.
- Developing and maintaining a library of reusable bid content, templates, and best practices.
- Conducting post-submission debriefs and analysis to identify areas for improvement and implement lessons learned.
- Writing project impact and evaluation reports for submission to funders/clients.
Skills & Personal Qualities Required

- Proven experience as a Bid Writer/Fundraiser or in a similar role. (E)
- Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills. (E)
- Strong research and analytical abilities. (E)
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. (E)
- Exceptional organisational and verbal communication skills. (E)
- Proven time-management skills and multitasking ability. (E)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with a quick aptitude for new software and systems. (E)
- Meticulous attention to detail and expertise in file organisation and cloud storage. (E)
- Outstanding customer service skills. (E)
- Bachelor’s degree qualified. (D)
- Knowledge of Google Workspace and Monday.com. (D)
- A valid driving licence and access to a vehicle. (D)
Working Hours & Location
- 19.5 hours per week over 3 days.
- Flexibility may be required when working towards tight application deadlines.
- Office based in Runcorn with occasional work-from-home opportunities.
- Flexible working hours may be available.
Remuneration/Benefits
- Competitive salary pay, ranging between £12,168 and £15,210 per year, dependent upon experience.
- Occasional overtime will be available, paid at your standard hourly rate.
- 22 days annual leave plus bank holidays (pro rata), increasing by 1 day per year up to a maximum of 28 days.
- Out-of-pocket travel & incidental expenses covered.
