Shining a Light on Loan Sharks: AI Art Project Garners Media Attention

We’re thrilled to announce that our Artificial Intelligence (AI) digital art project, “Illustrating the Perils of Loan Sharks,” was featured in the Runcorn and Widnes World! This recognition is very welcome as it will help to continue our goal of spreading awareness about the dangers of loan sharks.

About the Project:

In collaboration with the England Illegal Money Lending Team (IMLT) and Ormiston Bolingbroke Academy, we launched this project to teach Year 7 students about the dangers of illegal money lending. Through fun and engaging digital art workshops, students created a rogues’ gallery of AI-generated images showing the diverse faces of loan sharks. This project not only raised awareness but also helped students develop valuable digital skills.

Why This Matters:

While it’s nice to get our name out there, the reason why this coverage is so important is that it continues to spread awareness about the dangers of loan sharks. Instances of illegal money lending are high in Halton, so when more people know about the issue, it helps to make strides against illegal money lending. Plus, it gives the students an opportunity to see their hard work acknowledged and celebrated with a wider audience.
