Creative Hangout: Niall’s Story
At Digital Arts Box, we believe creativity has the power to change lives. Niall, one of our Creative Hangout attendees, recently shared how these sessions have made a huge difference for him.
Creative Hangout is a social club for young adults from Halton with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). Niall explained how the sessions have helped him grow in confidence, get out of the house, meet new people, and explore creative activities. He also mentioned that opportunities like this are rare for young adults with SEND.

Why Clubs Like Creative Hangout Matter
For many young adults with SEND, there are limited opportunities for socialising and personal growth, especially once they leave school and structured support decreases. This can lead to isolation and fewer chances to build skills and confidence.
Clubs like Creative Hangout provide a safe, inclusive space for young adults with SEND to connect, make friends, and engage in creative activities that suit their abilities. These clubs boost self-esteem, encourage independence, and ensure no one feels left out due to a lack of accessible opportunities.
Niall’s story shows the importance of these spaces, where young adults gain confidence, try new things, and become part of a supportive community.
